Not to belabor the point, but yes, it has been a while.
When I first started The Sig in 2009 I made a promise to myself that I would only write when compelled to do so, and never press the matter when I wasn’t — I suppose we can chalk up the last year or so of downtime to the latter circumstance. I’ve since been waiting for the moment when I felt restless again and for whatever reason – I won’t question it, lest it go back into hiding! – here we are again.
One can expect that things will be a bit different: what was once a personal side project about menswear tried and true, has over the years opened me to a great number of people, places, things and past times beyond that subject, all of which now touch every aspect of my life. With that in mind, I’ll be sharing a few steps outside the topic of menswear, so gentlemen, I ask you to adjust just a touch, and ladies, welcome. True to my original promise, I can’t commit to frequency here, but I do hope to publish a few things worth while – quality over quantity is still a virtue, after all.
